Todays honors the children of Soweto who died demanding dignity.
Their courage—and the violence they faced—still reverberates in our nervous systems.
Breathe into the clenched places. Grieve. Rest.

Today marks two important days:
1. #InternationalDayOfTheAfricanChild, which was first initiated by the OAU, now AU in 1991 in honour of those who participated in the Soweto Uprising in 1976.
2. #YouthDay in South Africa, which commemorates the #SowetoUprising of 16 June, 1976.

Today marks the #InternationalDayoftheAfricanChild, an annual celebration created to recognize and promote the rights of children across the continent. Let's all take a moment to remember the importance of protecting children's rights and ensuring their access to education, health, and safety.
