Also it ignores that the framers used language was was intentionally open to interpretation. We shouldn't have to pass a new amendment to the Constitution today banning "cruel and unusual punishment" so that we can use modern definitions of "cruel and unusual punishment."

this gets to a larger problem i have in games media (given that he primarily talks about games) where people just repeat things they've heard from sources without any real interpretation or vetting. an alarming amount of just taking people at their word when they've given you no real reason to do so

The Willoughby/Marianne storyline is very poorly handled (Willoughby miscast) but everything else works well. Possibly a better interpretation of Elinor and Edward too, dare I say, and the 90s version is one of my formative texts!! I feel like I'm blaspheming
