Oops! *Was* there a hillfort at Poundbury?! I'm just a shallow Romanist dabbling in IA stuff. I meant the modern town. Also, I think there is intervisibility with the classically-styled Tesco ... With a bit of time travel, all this could come together.

I’m a brokeass old Cav dog who used to plan ISR on spreadsheets and analyze intervisibility lines on google earth. And not even that for like 8 years.

Couldn’t say. We have great intervisibility here in the NW/N Wales between two upland ridges. Because I think the same people were initially occupying both.

Making analysis of inter-visibility rather pointless. Also, you didn't need intervisibility between positions to effectively defend a given area, just interlocking arcs and coverage of frontages so as not to accidentally fire onto friendly units but to help cover the approaches to their positions.

2/2 - The largest Stone had quite a presence! I heard later from a local that it's the site of an ancient field system & that the Stones were used for 'Rituals'. The intervisibility up & down the coast was sensational. I had the place to myself for almost an hour. What an awesome & special place. 🙏

Yes- and I wonder what is also the realistic distance at which intervisibility is still relevant, incl. changing weather. We only noticed Earls Hill on the day because sun beams picked out Earl's Hill interior on an otherwise grey day with low cloud.
