Caihong, the tiny theropod dino from the late Jurassic. It had fossilized feathers that paleontologists were able to determine were similar to the dark iridescence of modern birds like hummingbirds. It had a long feathered tail and feathers on both hind legs and forelimbs. It's head, chest and tail all had a iridescent coloration, depicted here as yellow, blue and red layers with purple and blue on it's wings and tail. It's craning it's head down and preening it's wing as it stands there. It's muzzle and feet are a light greyish brown

I took a stroll around the Artatza park in our neighbouring municipality of Leioa this morning. The first thing that's clear is the magpies are in charge. They were everywhere, bossing all the other #birds about. Look at the iridescence on the feathers of that second bird.

My poem titled Iridescence. … A shape forms in front of me, one that will leave a rift in my heart. I see a memory in haze, embraced by iridescence. Like water, the memory has ripples, that our vision writes to us. And as the memory clears, a sunset blooms on a version of me, smiling from ear to ear… but the bubble pops.
