In Fallout New Vegas, you can literally go to Ivanpah lake and walk around. That's a real place!! I can't find out for sure if that particular dry lake has shrimp in it, but there's no reason it would not (it even already has radioactive waste in it, because some people suck)

After all the environmental issues and inefficiencies at Ivanpah, this wouldn’t be solar I’d invest in.
China just got a heliostat plant – a concentrated solar power (CSP) station using a large field of computer-controlled mirrors, [heliostats], to reflect the sun on to a tall central tower – to power 170k homes a year and save 130k tons of CO2.

Unfortunately, both power companies (PG&E and SoCal Edison) who contracted for the power are now trying to get out of their support for this facility. Because regular solar is more efficient and flexible, with fewer issues.

One thing I haven't seen anyone mention yet is the challenge of keeping a beam focused. Keeping concentrated solar rays focused on the right place has proved difficult even on the ground, which is why CPV doesn't work out and Ivanpah struggles.
