I gave this clematis (Jackmani) a try planted in a pot alongside a muscadine with not all that much Hope it would hold its own but so far it’s doing well 🌱 #bloomscrolling

This one is a red purple. Not Jackmani. I also have a red one and that invasive white one.

I’ll be planting a Jackmani Superba clematis tomorrow. Hope it ends up looking that good!

Wow!! I had some called Ville de Lyon. They were similar - such a striking colour. Unfortunately they weren’t as hardy as the purple jackmani

I’m considering another clematis since the spot seems to fit their needs. Maybe a long-blooming group 3 since we tend to be there in mid to late summer. Maybe with proper pruning/fertilizing. Anybody grow these? Gipsy queen, Jackmani superba, Polish spirit #gardenfeed #gardensky #clematis
Calling plant people: at dad’s St Simons condo (zone 9a) we have a clematis vine on a trellis hiding the air pump unit. I got it in ‘98. No clue the variety. It has NEVER bloomed, but makes a good screen. I want to replace it with a low-maintenance, flowering vine. Gets limited afternoon sun.

I told you I had a wicked Clematis. It is called a Jackmani. I don't have it anymore but wow this plant was amazing.
It covered that entire trellis and then some. It is hops above it. The fence was falling over needed to be replaced hence the boards holding it up.

That's not entirely true- there was a third series, which was presented by "Dennis" and Clive the Kangaroo, who later got spun off into Radio Roo.

Fabulous! Is that the Jackmani Clemetis? Such a lovely color. If you have the ability for a magnesium bath (Epsom salt) those do me good when I'm stiff

I love clematis. I used to have a purple jackmani clematis - that thing was crazy it used to cover a huge/wide trellis we had. So many blooms.
Well at least it is a good surprise! 😀
