My mom won the "Outstanding Young Man" award from the Annapolis Jaycees in the 1970s. She has always insisted on women's rights. I find this hard to reconcile with her belief that my brother is the only one of her children who can un-jam her printer or power-wash her patio.

Something cool happened over the weekend that I didn't post about much: a few friends and I won first place in the Stonecutters LA Treehouse of Horror trivia at @vidiots.bsky.social. Our team name was THE APE ISLAND JAYCEES and we won some really great stuff.

You can point to caselaw that flirts w this idea, including 1st Am specifically, eg Trump v Hawaii. And maybe some bizarre cf resonance with caselaw for small orgs like Jaycees however distinguishable. But I mean less to play w caselaw than to fumble toward something like a sensible framework. Idk
