1 year before his remarkable 8-43 in the Headingley Ashes Test, Bob Willis lifts the 1980 John Player League trophy. An amazing turnaround as Warwicks were a distant last in prior campaign. Willis and manager David Brown forged a strong team spirit to carry the Bears to the title #johnplayer #jpl

scoring at greater than 10 runs per over in tandem with Asif Din.
Rarely were John Lever and Stuart Turner taken for over 100 across their combined 16 overs.

Yay! I lived at the back of a house & saw in his garden a bike covered with a sheet so no idea what it was. Called round, saw it & asked how much he wanted for his Li150. He wanted £15 & I knocked him down to £12.50. Sprayed it JohnPlayer black with a gold coach line & never looked back since! 👍😎
