Well able to explain the Keash caves stories about the Morrigan, Cormac MacAirt, Lughnasa, etc… was obviously listening to the mammy after all ☺️

Couple more shots, including one from inside the caves. Irish mythology held that these caves were a portal to the spirit realm, where the Tuatha Dé Danann fled when Milesians (regular humans) took over Ireland. Fionn mac Cumhaill's father (Cumhaill) was born in (roughly) Keash.

Going through some photos from a trip this summer to Ireland. My last name is very unusual even in Ireland, and we visited the place it comes from: A tiny place called Keash, in County Sligo. My ancestors lived right under these caves, which are central to a lot of Irish mythology.
