KEDT, which serves Corpus Christi, parts of the Rio Grande Valley and other parts of the Gulf Coast, gets 39% of its budget from the CBP. Their president told me that the cuts are existential, and could force them to shutter entirely. www.kedt.org

"Dunlap oversees operations at KEDT, which serves a broad swath of South Texas, from parts of the Rio Grande Valley to Victoria. While 21 other radio stations serve Corpus Christi, Dunlap says KEDT is the only one with a news department." -- www.chron.com/culture/arti...

I canceled My Amazon Prime and Paramount accounts. I immediately called my local #PBS and told them to make it a recurring withdrawal. I couldn't live without my KEDT public station. Give what you can.

Childhood station: KEDT, "Channel 16," Corpus Christi, TX. I was on a "College Bowl"-style game show for grade schools called "Challenge." Froze up like Joanie Cunningham on the Howdy Doody Show. (i'm very old)

Current: KLRN, San Antonio

This makes me so sick. Per the story, Texas only has ten PBS affiliates, and SIX are in danger of shutting down thanks to federal funding cuts. 🤬🤬🤬

KEDT finally got around to Colin Baker just as KMBH came online. Cablevision dropped the formerr for the latter, so we had to get KEDT over the air. We could just about get useable audio, but no picture. I didn't know what he looked like for ages.

No American city has ever run out of water. Corpus Christi, Texas could be the first — reservoirs on track to dry up by next year. 500,000 residents. Major refineries. No precedent. No manual.

Corpus Christi Plans to Declare a 'Water Emergency.' What Does That Mean?
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... Sign up for their newsletter here. This story was published in partnership with the Texas Newsroom, the state’s network of public radio stations. No modern American city has ever run out of water. This week, Zanoni announced that Corpus Christi will require 25 percent cuts to water usage across the board in September.
