June 2 had three SEGA Master System games released. The first was Kenseiden, an incredibly difficult platformer in the style of Ninja Gaiden. I'm kind of surprised this wasn't more beloved in it's day. The game looks amazing and is brutally challenging. Dark Souls before it's time.

For #RandomGameSaturday my hand drifted towards Kenseiden for the Master System - essentially Sega's take on a Castlevania game.
I had this recommended to me by a friend when I started revisiting the Master System library a few years ago. It's robust, if difficult, and I've not beaten it yet!

Yeah because Sega’s 1983 offering was a Coleco. The most fun thing to me is how the Genesis hardware then gets built off that entire architecture.

Kenseiden on the Master System would've been a much better choice to adapt but I like the idea of this too.

Oui celui où y'a 15 dangers à la seconde et où tu perds toutes tes vies en un claquement de doigts 🙈 j'avoue que j'ai pas insisté plus que ça mais j'ai testé 2-3 fois et à chaque fois je le trouvais exécrable. Mais bon c'est p-e comme Kenseiden, p-e que je devrais insister pour apprécier.

I definitely recommend Kenseiden - it's one of the Master System's best exclusives!
