Makes me think of the popularity of percussion bands in 1930s- 1940s schools, though I doubt the transfer is that old!

Okay, so Mum's stash of #embroidery transfers has so far yielded a tambourine, an out-of-proportion tambourine and trombone (unusual combination!) and my best effort, the kettledrums (timpani). Shall I look for more?

It's interesting: I've been reading both languages, pretty faithfully, until "To be or not to be"... Only the English would do. And I'd forgotten how many times the word "nunnery" appears.
