#khukri
Had a nice dinner of hash browns and chicken fingers with a spicy smokey ranch sauce. But I was still feeling down after that. Then I remembered that there was less than a day left to pre order. I downed the Khukri Spiced Rum with Pepsi Max and ran to pre order.
It is done!

It is indeed. My cousin had a Khukri gifted by his friend who was in a regiment. These fierce warriors were respected and honored all over the world! The knife is held like a machete and has a sharp blade, said to inspire fear and terror across armies.

As someone who has seen and held a Khukri, I can attest its a work of art. And a dangerous weapon. When the British colonized large swathes of Asia, they came across Gurkas wielding Khukris. These ferocious warriors were just amazing and the British was never able to take Nepal.

In fact they have seen action against the Nazis in world war 2, fought against many armies and covered themselves in glory. Today, the British army allows Khukris for their crack Gurka regiment...(Gurkhali) As a Gurkha is never seperated from his khukri.

Hail Heroes!

It is late (for me) but a yearning grows in my mind:

Should I get a tulwar, a khukri, or perhaps look into kilij options?

Because sword go swoosh, make happy chemical.

Ghurkha khukri has some really well made ones that are decently cheap, i got mine from there and it works/looks beautiful.

Day 16: Magic. I did a reversal for this one versus one I did in 2021 called Summon, by having the blade runes be engraved in black instead of white with a black blade.
I just wanted to have fun with the shapes and incorporating a heavy use of black ink.

Sub-launched torps? Beyond all doubt:
Indian frigate Khukri sunk by Pakistani sub Hangor, 1971
Argentine cruiser Belgrano sunk by HMS Conqueror, 1982

Suspected by one side but not acknowledge by the other:
South Korean corvette Cheonan sunk by North Korean minisub.

Precedents? Well, no U-Boat commanders were tried just for failing to rescue survivors. The captain of HMS Conqueror didn't get into trouble for failing to rescue survivors of the Belgrano. The captain of PNS Hangor didn't get in trouble for rescue survivors of INS Khukri.

Huh, I always imagined Leif more Curved, like a khukri or more fang shaped. Less Stabby and more Slashy.

Hegset lies like always and claim the torpedo attack on an enemy warship was the world’s first since WW2. It’s not. 1971: Indian INS Khukri torpedoed by Pakistan. 1982: Argentinian ARA General Belgrano by a UK submarine(Falklands war) 2010: South Korean ROKS Cheonan by a North Korean submarine.

A short look at Khukri
December 20, 2024 at 3:03 PM
I have a practical Khukri nicknamed the Jungle Junker. It has a rough finished leaf spring steel blade, a wooden handle, and a brown leather scabbard. The Karda and Chakmak are also unpolished. It is mainly made for work and combat, but it is not polished for ceremonial purposes.

In what sense is this "first" different from Hangor vs Khukri, Conqueror vs Belgrano, or an unknown submarine sinking Cheonan?

I love the colors you've used!

Based on how you've described it, I'm curious if you're familiar with the khukri? It's pretty much exactly this design of blade.

Right? RIGHT?! So precise!

Oh - oh! I think I might've shown you before, but he did some of my deities from Arellan that I think you'd like…

~blade attached to the stump) and the other often holds a khukri. She has a lot of scars, and usually wears a veil over her face.

Again, if these don't work I'm happy to suggest others! Trying to pick ones that I think will be interesting to work on, rather than like, "man with hammer" XD
