Going up the stairs is an energetic, full-body activity for me, which has led to me breaking the bannisters at least twice. I cracked the kingpost in my student flat doing some kind of slingshot manouver and now I've yanked the handrail out of the wall here.

So a king post truss is one where there's a single post in the center that the other braces lean onto. a traditional kingpost truss bridge is one where you have JUST the 1 kingpost, so you get this big triangle for the trusses. (see left). Muliple kingpost, see right
