A couple of my Dad's old slides, Ullapool. My folks were visiting me when I was working up North in 1992/93.
1) Fishing boat De'wy Rose with the Lerwick registration LK243.
2) Murmansk registered Atriya, a Russian rescue/supply vessel, probably working with the 'Klondyker' Russian factory ships.

For Scottish Gaelic speakers out there, a three-part documentary starts tonight on BBC Alba about Operation Klondyke, at the time (early 1990s) the biggest cocaine bust in British history. Will also be on iPlayer, hopefully with subtitles for us monolinguists.

I have been on klondykers, small lobster and scallop boats; purse seiners, and more.

I've stood in the fish marts and auctions. I understand the community, its needs, the immense dangers they face.

But I can never get away from the suffering I have seen in the fish landed. We have to do better.

Less than 10 of each #Shetland zine now left. Don’t dilly dally if you’re interested. I won’t be reprinting these, #Klondykers is already on 2nd edition. And in new year I’ve many further bodies of work which are worthy of being brought to life as zines. www.jeremysuttonhibbert.com/photography-...
