To all the people who said the captive-bred Knepp white storks wouldn’t migrate - current locations of the release birds. Amazing work by @ProjectStork @lucyinthewild @kneppcastle @CotsWildTweets #biaza2020

@isabella_tree
4. Is there any information available as to shooting and hunting activities and/or support for on @kneppcastle estate and how this fits the "wilding" ethic?
November 27, 2024 at 12:26 PM
@isabella_tree
3. Are there indicative figures on the amount of animals taken off as meat and how you decide these numbers since this is the critical driver of vegetation succession (and hence biodiversity) on @kneppcastle estate and what outcomes you want/see?

I've just finished reading "Wilding" by @isabella_tree and have some questions...
1. Is there a clear graphical timeline of the "wilding" of @kneppcastle somewhere that shows what was done where&when, perhaps accompanied by a series of maps showing the estate at different times?

@kneppcastle tests a new set of slides intended for a few hundred farmers in a few weeks time on #RewildingSHU conference audience. Charlie shows these income figures. I ask the obvious farmer’s question... “what’s the bottom line/profit margin?”

When you try to go birding with mates but they are more into botany... Kestrel and Kingfisher spotted at Knepp this evening by @rinarunswild, but missed by Brannon and Belle. (FYI, there's a fourth wee mammal hidden away in this scene!) #kneppcastle #rew…

@kneppcastle Hi, are all your free flight White Storks ringed. With an increase in sightings along the Sussex coast it would be of great interest/use to us birders to be able to identify birds from your introduction program, thanks in advance for your response. @KneppSafaris

Rewilding backlash! Something for this afternoon's #rewilding discussion. #NatureMatters16 @GeorgeMonbiot @kneppcastle @jsplorimer
Speccie casts #rewilding as class war. "Rewilding: the left’s latest crazy, dangerous idea" http://www.spectator.co.uk/2016/09/the-missing-lynx/ Hilarious but rubbish.

very interesting discussion just now on @BBCr4today between @Dirt_Science & @GeorgeMonbiot on how best to use land to store carbon (08:43). Both agreed producing meat the @kneppcastle way, was the right way forward. Which means massively reducing the amount of meat we all eat.
