Now playing Zeit by Tangerine Dream. I’ve always loved Julian Cope’s piece about this album in his Krautrocksampler book. “Music that hangs in Deep-space. Songs the size of planets with titles the size of cities”. It really was at the birth of the whole Kosmische scene.

Bought this when I was 16 (like pretty much everything in Krautrocksampler). The one bass note shift Holger Czukay does in the middle of the title track is, pound for pound, my favourite moment in music. So minimal yet changes the whole scene set out in the song
'Future Days is the least well-known of the trilogy and the most cinematic. It is also their botanical album. This is not exotica, so much as the vernacular music of an undiscovered planet, less Les Baxter and more Ursula K Le Guin'

Bought this when I was 16 (like pretty much everything in Krautrocksampler). The one bass note shift Holger Czukay does in the middle of the title track is, pound for pound, my favourite moment in music. So minimal yet changes the whole scene set out in the song

#MusicSky: like most sensible people, I've been wanting a copy of Julian Cope's Krautrocksampler for years. However, it'd be cheaper to build a time machine to go back to when it was in print in 1995. Does anyone know why it's only been reprinted once, apart from 'well, it's Copey'?
