Day 37 of #JRBPVirtualTour! We bring one of the best partnerships in #nature: #Ramalina #menziesii, commonly known as both #LaceLichen & #SpanishMoss. In 2015, Gov. @JerryBrownGov signed the bill designating #Lace #Lichen, the #California #StateLichen @CALichenS #EarthWeek2020

Tonight I am wearing Lace Lichen from BPAL and it is so pretty. It is soft and delicate (like lace, I guess?!) and there's something about it that reminds me of Oil of Olay from the 90s. I wonder what it is that makes it smell that way.

Today is #ForestFriday! I'm looking forward to seeing all the beautiful forest photos!

Here's an a tree laden with #LaceLichen which is very common on the trees here in the Central Coast of California.

A hiking trail goes through trees and shrubs. One large tree has a lot of lace lichen hanging from it...long light green strands of lichen that looks like Spanish moss. Along the trail there is also poison oak, berry vines and other assorted vegetation.

We have a very similar "beard" hanging from our trees here in Central Coast California. I thought it was Spanish moss, but after researching, I learned it's actually lichen. Around here it's called lace lichen. #Lichen #LaceLichen #Algae #Fungi
Pale green stringy strands hang from tree branches. A tree with a lot of lace lichen hanging from its branches. A screen capture that tells you about lace lichen which is a combination of fungi and algae and that it's the "State Symbol" of California. The strands can grow up to 3 feet long.
