The brushfire north of the Getty Center has been contained. Thank you to LAFD for their hard work, and to staff and visitors who evacuated safely and swiftly.
The Getty Center will resume normal operations tomorrow, and will open as usual at 10am.

The more relevant thing is that they took money from LAFD to give to LAPD and incidentally no one I've seen is complaining that the LAFD or the firefighters gathering from all over the western states are doing anything but their best. Also Musk is the worst, but everyone knows that.

I had to evacuate before due to the new fire in LA that just sprung up around the corner from me. Made it out safely. Thankful for the LAFD and all first responders for their quick response. Please stay safe everyone and follow all the updates closely.

Some council offices and the mayor are now trying to cover for their disastrous budget by claiming that they approved new LAFD contracts, which happened 6 months AFTER they approved the FY24-25 budget, leading to services and 58 LAFD positions cut

It’s actually even worse than that - the LAFD budget is only 1/3 of the LAPD’s. LAFD and the county FD have to fundraise for supplies while the LAPD collects millions in overtime.
