I forgot to post this photo from after last Sunday's picnic. Walking back to the bus stop, one of the yachts moored in Kooroora Bay had been designated as The Roost for these little black shags. There's at least two dozen by my count.

Spring is certainly here. A bit cloudy this morning, but this gymea lily doesn't mind. Lovely and warm, definitely shorts weather.

A gymea lily with two flower spikes. The plant has long green leaves coming up from a central base at the ground, to about 1 metre. The flower spikes are thin and long, to about 3 metres, with a collection of red flowers at the ends.

Late in our picnic this pair of wood ducks ambled past our table, with Mrs grazing on the grass while Mr watched for threats. He's looking the other way, so I guess we were assessed as non-threatening.

It's still a little breezy out there, and when I wandered around to the shops for eggs and wine, this little corella was having fun spinning on the end of a casuarina branch. There's other corellas and a cockatoo in there as well.
