#landplants
I was very much looking forward to this #paleostream! The tranquil of the Devonian Rhynie Chert fascinated me for a while.
This geothermal wetland preserves some of the specimens of early landplants and is witness to the conquest of land by animals.

Preprint. 4 coumarate:CoA ligases are part of the acyl-CoA synthetase family. Their evolution, driven by CoA and hydroxycinnamates, allowed the evolution of landplants. Our classification has 3 rather than 2 classes of 4CLs, besides OPCL (JA biosynthesis) and 4 other subfamilies.

Classification and Evolution of the Plant 4CL/ACS Superfamily and Transcript Analysis in Andean Potato
Hydroxycinnamates, intermediates of phenylpropanoid metabolism, can be converted by Class I and Class II 4-coumarate:CoA ligases (4CL) to their activated CoA esters. Class I enzymes are involved in su...

#Phylosymbiosis is a valuable framework for investigating #Plant–microbe associations and their #EvolutionaryEcology. This review of Li-Qun Lin et al. discussed the #Prevalence and underlying #Mechanisms of phylosymbiosis in #LandPlants.

We demonstrated that genome size is related to cell size specially on the smallest cells of #moss #gametophytes . Our results also suggest that this relatinship is maintained across #landplants but it depends more on cell function than on cell type origin.

If I can cheekily be a little critical, there were moments where there was a bit too much of a love-in for the #microbial, and an over-egging of their scale in the #biosphere. Remember: most biomass (~70%) is in the form of #eukaryote #LandPlants.

Conservation of chromatin states and their association with transcription factors in land plants
The complexity of varied modifications of chromatin composition is integrated in archetypal combinations called chromatin states that predict the local potential for transcription. The degree of conse...
