one of my coworkers is 35 years old, from laredo, and was a toddler the last time a democrat won a statewide office in texas. his whole damn waking life.
This is one of those “this isn’t actually a heartwarming story” things but I do have a deep admiration for people who have been living in deep red areas gerrymandered all to fuck and get no national support who have been trying their best for decades and just won for the first time

It's all up to the border I think. More counties in DFW are blue than before. Houston, San Antonio, Austin and El Paso are solidly blue. If Laredo to Brownsville go blue, I'm guessing it's a wrap.

Meanwhile, the reddest large TX county, Montgomery, is at just 77% of its 2024 EV turnout.
