Citizens United is one of the most damaging SCOTUS decisions in modern history. Allowing this kind of cash to flow into campaigns in order that Musk can demand favors from his purchased lawmakers is the definition of anti-democratic. John Roberts' legacy is going to land him at the very bottom.

OUR VIEW: Most lawmakers are hard-working, ethical and deserving of a salary. But for voters to approve this amendment, the good ones need to do better at policing the bad apples. sfnm.co/4enih6f
Lawmakers want to be paid? Better behavior would help
Pay lawmakers — that’s the idea behind Constitutional Amendment 4. This newspaper has generally endorsed the idea that no one should work for free, including members of the state House

A majority of the American public wants Congress to regulate AI.

But as policymakers try to make informed decisions, Senate lawmakers and their staff are barred from using all but the most basic AI tools.

Honestly think this is something that expanding the court has a good chance to end. End f the death penalty is something most Dems are not in favor of, not something that is a top issue for most people and thus not a priority for lawmakers, and which political insulation would be useful.

🚨 Hungary’s parliament has voted to repeal most of a 2021 law that restricted content about LGBTQ+ people for children. The Orbán-era law required books on these topics to be sold in black plastic wrap with warnings, even when age-appropriate.
Hungary: Lawmakers scrap Orban-era anti-LGBTQ+ provisions
Hungary's parliament passed a bill amending the 2021 "child protection law." The move is considered the first significant reversal of Orban's curbs targeting the LGBTQ+ community.

From @marytuma.bsky.social: “By delaying their most recent report and refusing to release data from 2022 and 2023, [the Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee] are not only preventing lifesaving information from being made public, but they are also refusing to honor the lives lost.”
A ‘Politically Motivated Cover-Up’: Why the State's Maternal Death Report Was Pushed Until After Midterms
Advocates and lawmakers warn the state health agency's decision to delay releasing the annual report will further harm women—and make it harder to enact necessary laws in 2027.

Lawmakers are (for the most part) not doctors. Doctors are (for the most part) not lawyers.

There is NO WAY that lawmakers can craft a law that bans abortion except in the case of medical emergency that will not cause doctors to hesitate to give medically necessary abortions.

Argue in comments.

YES!!! Disappointing that even the vociferous Democrats have buckled when it came to this suggestion. If roles were reversed GOP politicians would not have hesitated to do just that - and they’ve been waiting for the chance. Unfortunately most democratic lawmakers also respect the law and follow it!
Let's get 30-50 Democratic Congressmen to stand up with photo proof of the worst abuses from the epstein files. Epstein videotaped everyone with damning evidence to blackmail these men. Congress has full access to the unredacted files

We could blow the lid off this at anytime.

Safety in numbers.
