- RAT has native Rust functions for tasks instead of running system commands.
- Got some little things to clean up from integrating the web and cli capabilities.
This is fun. I think by the end of next week, it'll be stable enough for a video demo. github.com/thedunston/l...

I’m new here (thanks to tsoding). I'm diving deep into the world of RustLang and exploring everything about programming.
Looking forward to connecting with fellow devs, sharing knowledge, and learning!

Now halfway through the year, I put everything on pause.
Turns out moving your family across the world doesn't help gamedev productivity 😅

At some point, you stop chasing the newest crates, async runtimes, and frameworks…
and start mastering ownership, lifetimes, and borrow checking.
That’s when growth stops looking exciting —
and starts looking real.

- Upload works. YAY!
TODO:
- clean up code, functions, comments, etc.
- validate command input.
- When a cmd is typed & the results display, drop the user back to a prompt.
I'm really happy with this project. I didn't think I'd get this far with it so soon.

Multiple clients can connect and sending commands to each client based on its ID. After the push, I realized, I need to remove printing the ID for errors and include maybe the ID AND agent name and I need to add the OS to the client list output.

😇 If you’re learning Rust, I highly recommend tackling this—it’s a great way to level up!

- cargo build -> produces the binary
- cargo run -> produces and runs the binary
- cargo check -> It skips the step of producing the binary, thus, much faster than cargo build and still checks for errors.

Some basic concepts from the book:
“Rust is an ahead-of-time compiled language, meaning you can compile a program and give the executable to someone else, and they can run it even without having Rust installed.”

Installing #Rust
The recommended way is to install rustup from the command line or terminal. I'm using MacOS so I was tempted to see if an installation through #brew was available.

I searched Google "What's the best way to learn #Rust". After spending about 10 minutes searching across different sites and Reddit posts, I'll focus on using two resources:
- The Rust Programming Language
- Rustlings

- Adding getting env vars, moving file/dir, copying a file.
First RAT build is 1.6MB and c2 is 1.2MB.
Woke up too early and feeling a bit icky so not much today.

- More RAT tasks via native Rust functions (create/remove dir, list/kill processes, set/get working dir, cat a file, get basic/detailed system info, delete file).
- Need to tighten up some server side functions and add a few more RAT functions.
