*He pans the area in disgust, scratching his claws against the back of his neck.*

*He should really get out more.*

*Speaking of—! He checks the dusty calendar hanging on the wall, locks eyes on a leatherback journal and a spare pen, then climbs to ground level.*

I have this older sketch of my Dragonborn character Kimichi, & she appears to be beckoning in this images, as though she's wants to offer something. Perhaps "snoo, snoo", it's probably that ("& she probably wants to give a lot of it too")! I think I kinda liked how the older sketch look more though.

The Trump Administration is trying to gut the Endangered Species Act - one of the most critical tools we have to protect our environment.

We're in court to protect the endangered species that call Massachusetts home.

A: No. Only the following fish..

Me: Are leatherback turtles and Tegu lizards, reptiles?

I thought it may have drifted a ways and washed up dead, but it was in pretty good shape. We also saw a leatherback swimming about 12 miles off Eureka in 2002 over 20 miles inside of the 60-degree temperature break where the albacore were. At first I thought it was a roof rack on a floating VW bug!

Leatherback sea turtles have a “skylight” on the top of their head (a spot of unpigmented skin on top of an unusually thin part of their skull which allows light to directly hit their pineal gland) which lets them know when the equilux is so they can start migrating to warmer waters

NOAA Fisheries Takes A 'Sharp Turn Away From Science'
This article originally appeared on Inside Climate News, a nonprofit, non-partisan news organization that covers climate, energy and the environment. Sign up for their newsletter here. In July, the Trump administration relegated endangered leatherback turtles, sea lions and whales to mere collateral damage in its race to profit from the oceans. Now, fisheries science is in the government’s crosshairs. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced new agency priorities last week that they say are a commitment to “cutting bureaucracy, modernizing our science, and putting our fishing communities first.” But experts say the agency’s actions will erode fish stocks, threaten endangered species and surrender marine habitats to destructive trawlers. The agency-level reforms serve as a self-proclaimed “operational roadmap” to fulfilling President Donald Trump’s “Restoring American Seafood Competitiveness” executive order, signed in April 2025. On the table: opening marine national monuments to commercial fishing operations, scaling back critical habitat designations to focus more on the downstream economics of conservation and weakening decades of peer-reviewed science. “If you asked AI to come up with a plan to hollow out marine ecosystems and impoverish coastal communities, it would look a lot like the one NOAA just put out,” said Andrea Treece, the...
