#lectricone

#30daysofbiking I rode 2.4 miles to test the seatpost (and raised it about an inch after this picture.) and I really like how this bike fits now. #lectricone

Goodnight mountain.

🤔 solve all of the design flaws of the #lectricone by converting it to a SWB recumbent with a patterson / schlumpf / just-a-wide-double on the chain that connects to the overly narrow-range belt-drive gearbox

#bikenite A8 I've made a few crossings of the river near sunset this week, returning from #bikesummerpdx group rides, and passed 600 miles on the #lectricone, after about six months. I'm still not happy with their programming choices / inflexibility relative […]

The current state of my cargo situation with the #lectricone: a bag, bungee, and lock borrowed off my other bike. (Can't hook at the bottom of the rack bcs brake disk there would rub the hook 🤪#nplus1problems #BikeTooter #ebikes

Update on the #lectricone / #piniongearbox electronic shifter #BikeTooter #fedibikes

Lectric is shipping me a new one, before even sending the disassembly pictures. I was in a hurry to get to a ride last night and did some quick surgery to make this an […]

1389 miles on the #lectricone before the electronic shifter snapped when I hit a bump with my thumb on it. I managed to finagle it into high gear and then unplug the shifter, but the damn thing still downshifted at some point when I was stopped 😒 between this and the illogical throttle […]

who was going to tell me the #lectricone was the newest member of my discontinued #ebikes collection?
July 30, 2026 at 5:05 AM
nice day for 3 rides, 46 miles, 6h12 ( #lectricone ended at 45.0V ~5% )

well, they sent me a new display for the #lectricone and a few initial tests says it doesn't do this reset thing. Will it also solve pedal sensor needing a full rotation backwards to initialize? Still not getting any helpful answers about lower-than-200W and "why is the throttle programming so […]

#lectricone losing it's settings might be due to having pushed the power button while battery was sleeping or removed 🤔 that fits, if you use the button and it doesn't turn on, "oh I have to wake it up" but that just reverted all of the settings.

… #bikenite A5 (cont.) I also have a handful of single-person bikes, the REI Gen e1.2 #littlebigorangebike (which needed a handlebar and seatpost swap to reach remotely sane geometry) has roughly the same motor as the #lectricone, but the One delivers 2x the power, (albeit crudely-programmed PAS […]

needs more light and a better camera mount (#lectricOne handlebar mount... should I try mounting the too-heavy steel front rack? Maybe that would give it more inertia/stability.)

#lectricone has reset itself to factory stupid settings 🫠 and I figured this after leaving. Guess I'll have to memorize the ones to change.

Once again I've taken the #lectricone down a hill without enough charge and now will suffer cramps in weird leg muscles. None of my other bikes have such a high low gear, and the assist level 1 is 200W until the battery is nearly flat. So you can't conserve range except to pulse it on/off, or […]

The torque from this #lectricone hub motor is no joke. Shaky video climbing the steep bit of custer with a few zig-zags because I can't downshift the pinion any farther. (I need to find a mounting point that isn't this shirt+magnet thing. It's nice to see […]

a 3-minute mile is kinda brisk, as an average speed. #ebikes #lectricone
May 29, 2026 at 8:08 AM
The #lectricone could really use a 9-level setting so it didn't have to come on at 200W minimum. If the levels were like a twist shifter or lever, switching even 20 wouldn't be as tedious as 5 on buttons. It zips if you're going somewhere, but casually riding up a hill with a lot of people […]

116mi #lectricone update, Hillsdale to tigard and back,
March 21, 2026 at 12:09 AM
Terwilliger to Tigard on Barbur Blvd with the #lectricone eBike: 16min, 5.4miles +272ft. I think it was 51.8V ~89% (but did not write it down.) After a 16.2mi group ride on mostly flat, it was at 51.6V ~87% (67%, effectively) Return trip: 17min, +515ft climbing. 48.6V ~59% (39%) + stopped twice […]

The #lectricone has a range of about 800-1000ft, which is around 24 miles in this particular use-case of hauling my 200lb over a 100ft hill a couple times and then downtown, around the east side a bit, and back up Terwilliger (+500ft) where it was limping at 350W max, maybe 15mph with effort […]

The pinion gearbox in the #lectricone is rather high-geared, and level one is 200W - how do you get 100W? Not with the throttle, it's basically on or off in level 1. Once the battery is nearly dead, the controller limits level 2 and above 😒 could I get the source code for this?

Maybe if I set […]

#newbikeday for my #lectricone was last week but this was the first longer ride, real hills test, and the mountains came out for it.
