When utilized in literature review, LLMs consistently 1. fail to mention female authors in female-led literatures, 2. insist that men are more influential or more heavily cited when this is contradicted by objective citation counts, and 3. attribute women’s work to hallucinated male scholars.

There are also entire literatures on how aliens built the pyramids. Plenty of stupid and mendacious ideas have equally stupid and mendacious literatures supporting them. -OS
My key point here is not substantive. I find Trump's order cruel & terrible, but whether it is constitutional is a separate, crucial question. Left-leaning people like me should assume good faith by those suggesting the order is constitutional & engage with their arguments.

Wow. The University of Chicago, a world-class institution whose humanities faculty in the past has included Homi Bhabha & Lauren Berlant & Ralph Ellison & Hannah freaking Arendt, is getting rid of basically every graduate department involving the acknowledgment that other cultures & languages exist.

There is a Eurocentric denialism maybe rooted in an original Greek sense of inferiority: Egyptians and Hittites produced whole written literatures while Greek peoples were still nonliterate. They left prose annals and memorial inscriptions where Greek bards left us beautiful, myth-saturated poetry.
