What a week. In a good way. Spent the first half of it on a much needed mini break to Copenhagen. My first time but feel I may well venture back sometime to explore a little more. We fit plenty in - walked over 52 miles and more than 133,000 steps over the four days - but lots we just didn’t have chance to see too.

Now that is what I call a week! I mean, most weeks are, obviously, weeks, but that one was pretty special. Firstly - only three days in work. Bonus. They were long days, admittedly, but worth it, for the freedom and laughter the end of the week brought. Because the weather was moderately kind, I even managed a few walks before work too, and it was lovely to see that the Swan's eggs finally hatched with the little fuzzies cygnets putting in a brief appearance or two. Not so much that I managed to get any decent pics - they were still all in the nest - but hope to remedy that in the week ahead…

Okay. So I achieved little to nothing of interest over the last week. The increasing heat has made sleeping painful, so the one thing I did manage was to get up early most mornings (apart from the one day I forgot to set an alarm ...) and go for a walk along the canal before work. So quiet. So pretty. So many…

Blimey. What happened there then? Another week gone. I swear they are getting quicker. Not that I'm complaining as this week I had a very short work week, with Thursday and Friday spent at leisure. This means that I actually have something to share with you all picture wise as Mandie and I went for a walk around Ironbridge on Thursday and then a stroll further upstream along the Severn in Shrewsbury on Friday.

That is another week over, and it's possibly the first time in a long time that I feel able to breathe. Having been informed about ten days before Christmas that I was due to be made redundant, I have just been offered a new role, again about ten days before I was due to finish the old one. A relief - yes.
