Bring back Loab!
IMO, LLMs are only artistically interesting when they break down or throw an unexpected result, like the Loab artifact. Like T-Pain pushing autotune past its limits, actual AI art would be a human using AI in a way it wasn’t designed for (although ther’s still the ethical and environmental impacts.)
I've seen the comparison between LLMs and cut-ups before, and honestly I think LLMs are the literal opposite of cut-ups. Cut-ups are about creating unlikely juxtapositions by breaking normal patterns. LLMs are about words that *always* go together and the statistically *most likely* juxtapositions.

I think the last time I saw AI art really used *interestingly* from the perspective of exploring the medium was when Loab popped up and people were figuring out all the weird nonsense in latent space.
