Someone was telling me in a convo tangential to discussion of my #SOFTWAREAct that there was a copy of my GNU Social profile cached on Mike Gerwitz’s instance of it that I could use to recover the profile I originally created on the loadaverage instance, but now I can’t find it…

The #GNUSocial instance on loadaverage dot org that I signed up for a few years ago is still dead, it appears; I wish someone would bring it back…

OK, so, let’s say I *do* decide to sign up for Mastodon… which instance should I choose? Last time I signed up for a distributed social network (GNUSocial), my particular instance (LoadAverage) died soon after, so I’d prefer to avoid that happening again if possible…
