Oh, please.

$9K longhood 911Ts and $15K 911SCs.

$10K Alfa GTVs.

$25K carbureted Ferrari 308s.

E36 BMWs (including M3s) for pocket change.

All that while I couldn't scrape together enough for a mail-order bicycle.

This 1977 Porsche 911S coupe was modified some time ago with Carrera-style rear fender flares, backdated bumpers, a fiberglass longhood, and polycarbonate rear windows. Showing 73k miles, it's listed now on BaT!

Invest in passing through the Stag Door and becoming accounted among the Know, that you may one day earn sufficient favours with the Hours to ascend to Longhood, or perhaps even reach the status of Name

Was never much of a tech dweeb. Still not. I like my Oura ring and grumble that MacOS and iOS don’t integrate as seamlessly as I’d like and that’s enough.

Alternate car choices: black Fox-body Mustang GT, longhood ‘69-‘71 911 because those were cheap back then, Ferrari 328 because I mean c’mon.

SWML diverts at Alton

(Usual)
Class 450 on a Alresford-Ascot service.

(Diverted)
3X BR Class 36's on a empty freight train.
BR Class 30 leading longhood with a Class 34 at the rear on an express from Pencaster. DVT has a fault.

When I was part-time at a Barnes & Noble and living at home a $15,000 longhood 911T was out of reach.

When I was bouncing between temp gigs and barely making rent and couldn't afford a bicycle a $25,000 carbed 308 was out of reach.

I'm doing better. They're just more out of reach now.

mostly because those classic longhood designs of the 60’s are really inefficient all the weight on the front made them corner like cinderblocks, and it’s hard to put airbags in them, the newer egg shape is much more rigid with less materials. but yes I know what you mean and I agree with you. #RTEF

Lastly, my SD45X hauling the tractors while an all-Southern train is pulled by a SD40-2 longhood-forward as Southern intended! The Southern consist was recently and graciously donated to the club and it's a fine runner. I need to find a way to make the crew figures face the right direction...
