sumire is still learning to read but i think most of the books she has are non-fiction books about either insects or Boats. she wants to go on the sea soooo baaaad.

sumi being early 30s but constantly appearing as though mid 20s is on purpose because the kami are cowards and all their previous maidens were young women who because of previous mortality rates died in their 30s-40s anyway. so they snipped away her ability to get any older -

did you know that if your oc worships the kami or pulls their power from belief of the kami then sumire could act as a magnifier for that power (at a cost) (big one) (its ok though doesnt that power feel good)

thinking really hard and really sad about how sumire feels incapable of witnessing her reflection or knowing what she looks like. sure, they can be /described/ - anyone could say here is what you look like, here is what i find beautiful, or repulsive, or mesmerising about it.

my little fragmented thing. she spends inordinate amounts of time alone and often not by choice - mind wandering far and wide, while she sleeps or stares from bed. or the floor, on the carpet, under twinkling ceiling lights. in the dark. she awakens and wanders and leaves herself there.

though sumires not from hingashi or surrounding, because of what she is i think if you visit shrines there regularly you have a minute chance of seeing her just for a moment. of course she isn't actually there. you'll blink and the edge of her coat is disappearing around the corner... kamis girl

thinking about how sumire is always in a cage and going :(

despite sumis personality or maybe because of it they are actually a fan of bouncy, energetic people. lots of life in them. it makes them a bit soft, maybe a bit envious, to know there are people who can be as sumire wishes she was... wibbles

thinking instead. sometimes sumire can 'fall into' versions of herself being used by the kami when she goes to sleep. eyes closed in bed and then opened in a random spot in yanxia or hingashi. suddenly the visiting maiden seems somehow Less real for the change, if witnessed
