this might be based loosely on Wikipedia article names - on Spanish Wikipedia, 'osito lavador' redirects to 'Procyon cancrivorus' (crab-eating raccoon, southern raccoon)

but the English article for Racoon is associated with 'Procyon lotor' (northern racoon)

A friend reminded me the scientific name of a raccoon is Procyon Lotor. Procyon means “before the dog” in Greek.

My short lived raccoon fursona was “before the dog”, literally.
