it’s similar in some ways, but not all of the new tokens become exchangeable for the first token, only specific tokens with an exchange property determined by some reward system. With an LP all the LP tokens share in the gain or loss on everything in the LP

Too late to put the genie back in the bottle, but I think music streaming would be more pleasurable if you got say 4 LP tokens a month and you spent them on stuff you wanted, thus building a collection & encouraging you to re-listen rather than the tendency to see it as content to be consumed once

By the early 70s, 50s New York doo-wop group The Tokens were being influenced by the same groups they'd influenced: CSNY, The Eagles, Neil Young, Bread. So they decided to change their name and and release their idea of a country-rock LP. A £3 #cheapheat find.

Raydium users lose $1.34 million after legacy smart contract exploited An attacker exploited a legacy smart contract that had been used by the Raydium Solana DEX before it was deprecated in 2021. Though the contract was unused, there were still funds in the liquidity pools affected by the vulnerable contract. Using fake LP tokens, the exploiter was able to trick an old smart contract with insufficient validation into allowing them to withdraw assets. Raydium has said it will compensate users who lost funds in the exploit.

CORRECTION: Yearn accidentally swapped its entire lp-yCRVv2 treasury, which is a subset of the tokens in the treasury. According to one employee, this was around 2.9% of the project's treasury.
Yearn Finance accidentally swaps its entire Ip-yCRVv2 treasury, asks nicely for the money back A blue circle with a white symbol of a Y with a U-shaped semicircle below it(attribution) Periodically, Yearn Finance converts a small quantity of its treasury tokens into stablecoins to spend on operations. However, something went terribly wrong during this process when they went to perform the swap and erroneously converted the entire amount — nearly 3.8 million Ip-yCRVv2 tokens — into a stablecoin. According to one Yearn Finance employee, this pool of tokens comprised around 3% of the project's treasury. Because there was not sufficient liquidity for such a large trade at the going price, the trade was ultimately fulfilled, but at a 63% loss. Before the trade, that quantity of tokens was priced at around $2.28 million; however, Yearn received only around $780,000 in stablecoins because of the slippage.
