Unlike other years, my Grove did a ritual for Lughnassadh this year. Or, rather, we did one in Ottawa. Most of the grove is off at Kaleidoscope Gathering during the August long weekend, so it's not typically something we've done in town. What that meant, for me, was (1) I wrote the Lughnassadh ritual, and invited a few new-to-Druidry faces from my other ritual group to come and join in, and (2) I held off on doing my Glammas rituals until after the August long weekend had wrapped up.

Once upon a time, there was a low-budget, volunteer-run leather dyke weekend in Ottawa (and then in Toronto, and then in Ottawa again) called Unholy Harvest. This event was foundational for me. It introduced me to the idea of "leather queer" as someone who, yes, is a kinky freak, but also is someone who takes care of their people, proactively helps out where needed, and follows through on what they say they'll do.
