I can't remember if LWA had trans characters but the others def do, clearly in response to jkr's transphobic bullshit.
one of them even has them go to what is essentially an lgbtqia group to help the character navigate their situation.
that one in particular made a commenter ragequit the show lol.

The problem is that unless you’re a skilled enough writer, school is just not an interesting setting genre fiction. Kill La Kill (and to a lesser extent LWA) pulled off by twisting it into something that only vaguely resembles school.

i think inherently magic is a little undermined when you try to standardize but LWA is able to subvert this by maintaining whimsy; magic is common but never mundane and always unpredictable because of the constantly curious protag, and invites the audience to meet it with similar childlike wonder

I think I was way too ambitious with this and it kinda bit me towards the end, but the shapes were still really fun to draw.
Also I learned how to use Procreate’s effect brushes which was fun.
