Mara is just a little shorter than min-height for a midlander (5’) and for the most part she likes that it makes her so unassuming especially as the wol! but she hates being unable to reach anything (which is something her taller friends *coughs Estinien* has used to tease her)

Is your wol short, average, or tall for their race/gender? Do they have any particular thoughts on their height?

a/n: #maralore i haven't really talked about this but kind of alluded to it before but i think as the light starts to affect Mara the world starts to become dull and grey and she becomes listless and withdrawn.
except where the Exarch is involved. he is bright and brings all the colour back >

#maralore Mara is near identical to her Azem (Eris) - but she’s shorter and her hair is lighter
She originally had green eyes that did differentiate her from Eris but one turned purple — the same colour as Azem’s eyes for reasons :)
I think Ardbert has a splash of that purple in his eyes too

#wolqotd does your azem has a physical characteristic that they share with your wol? is it something shared across all shards?

#wolqotd | flipping through that list of ffxiv NPC ages got me thinking: how old is your wol/oc in ARR? (and, bonus for those of us who hc the MSQ taking place over a variable # of years: how old is your oc by DT?)

TAKE 2
so ignore that's my g'raha alt for a sec but *this* is the moment where Mara starts falling for him, like she's mad when she first gets to the First but softens on him after Holminster. then this happens (the vanish scene too.. this whole day really) and it's all downhill for her

Ana just kind of brushed the topic of Mara’s father off whenever she asked so she learned he couldn’t have been anyone important
also i’ve said forever ago Ul’sanna is mixed keeper/seeker, hence the name while looking like a keeper of the moon 😅

a bit of a mix but mostly happy and affectionate, Mara becomes very touchy and lovey and a bit more vocal in her affections and talks and rambles a lot more
...the mix part is she is also a horny flirty drunk lmao 🧵

What kind of a drunk is your WoL/OC (if they drink at all)? Sad drunk? Affectionate drunk? Wild drunk? Horny drunk? A "you wanna fight?" drunk? Or maybe they cycle through all of them over the course of a night.

technically Mara was about 15 when she started adventuring with Kit, but then Cartenau happened and she lost her memories and that set everything back about 5 years (that is, she was recovering and figuring out what to do with herself). she properly started again around 20 (she meets >

#wolqotd This one is kinda fun— How old was your WoL when they started their journey, vs how old they are currently at whatever point of the story you are in with them?

mara is a lot more quiet, timid and reserved than eris was. while in their lifetime, he would have sighed and scolded her and told her she should act more responsibly, he loved her unpredictability and how outspoken and sure of herself that she was, even if he wasn't one to admit it >

I have another #wolqotd
In game, Emet Selch/Hades sees the WoL as a shadow of their former self (aka Azem). What about your WoL seems so contradictory to Azem that that is why Hades refuses to acknowledge they're the same person? Personality, fighting style, etc, etc, up until the end?

i've been wanting to make a human version of the voidsent that follows Mara around and eventually forms a pact with (and also make an au ra character hhh)
the arioch is her voidsent form which I like to think is actually that small too
her name is Riven
#maralore - (for now anyway 😅)

Depending on if your wol / oc is ‘famous’ or not, what would the most googled/searched question online be for them? Do any of these have answers?

Kit's background is very similar to Mara's - he was with her at Cartenau, but also lost his memories the same way she had (he remembers no one before waking up and no one remembers him). Unfortunately he ended up in a much worse situation than Mara, where 🧵

The changes were subtle at first, but with the defeat of each Lightwarden, the Warrior became more distant, more withdrawn. But nothing was more apparent than the way the colour faded from her hair...

Mara is found sometime after the Battle of Cartenau in a coma and is taken care of by a healer named Ul'sanna. After waking up, and after a few months where no one comes looking for her, Ul'sanna offers to let Mara live with her.
