Patrick Haid (Key Out), Saskia Clapton (The Great Emu War Casualties) and Nick Kennedy (Big Heavy Stuff, Imperial Broads and Knieval to name but a few), are Marlophone, and they have been drip-feeding us the most tastiest of morsels in the lead up to their debut album, the Wayne Connolly-produced album ’Remembered Adventures in Widescale’. It's out on 14 August the wonderful Love As Fiction Records (AU) and Shore Dive Records (UK). Out today is 'Nintendo Era Hero', another fuzzy feedback-driven thunder-laden blast with Haid's dreamy vocals in the distance, surfing on the waves of sound.

Earlier this year, The Great Emu War Casualties (TGEWC) released their debut album 'Public Sweetheart No. 1' to great acclaim (reviewed by me here, and described as being an album filled with wry intelligent humour, carried on a bed of gentle pop and soaring anthems). In the intervening time, member Saskia Clapton was part of Marlophone who recently released their debut album 'Remembered Adventures in Widescale' (reviewed by me here). And now, never a band to rest on their collective laurels, TGEWC are back with the hyperactive and brash new track 'Cold Food Ave', replete with a stream-of-conscious delivery from singer/guitarist Joe Jackson and a great deal of verve.

Supergoup Marlophone follow up their debut single 'I'm On You Side' (proudly premiered by us here) with a thunderous blast in the beautifully romantic 'If We End Up On The Run'. Consisting of Patrick Haid (Key Out), Saskia Clapton (The Great Emu War Casualties) and Nick Kennedy (Big Heavy Stuff, Imperial Broads and Knieval to name but a few), Marlophone have a dreamy, ethereal delivery that, in this single, is backed up with a buzzsaw shoegaze wattage.
