Thanks for writing it up - I wasn't able to go to mathsconf38 but I'm leading on ratio tables (embed in maths so we can embed in science and get x curriculum wins) across our Trust so this is insanely useful!

So it took a while, but here is the write up of my MathsConf38 session - Breaking Up with Formulae: Ratio Tables are “The One”! Turns out starting a new job the same week as presenting, then a busy summer weren't ideal for getting this done before now! 😬🫣

A write up of my MathsConf38 session on the use of ratio tables to support the development the conceptual understanding of algebraic drect and inverse proportion relationships. A little late, after starting a new job the same week and a busy summer... but finally written!

Really enjoyed yesterday’s #mathsconf38 - from quickly calculating dates in a different century to the most gorgeous surd questions, I’ve had lots to think about!
Best of all, it was great to see everyone - especially at an Ormiston School 💕.

At the end we were challenged us to come up with a question featuring the expression 𝑥² − 7𝑥 + 10.

Lovely time at #mathsconf38 My takeaways were definitely going to look into more about ratio tables. Loved using them for inverse proportion. Going to use more etymology. Also going to look into visualisers. (For future first timers you get free lunch and coffee)

that was fab, need to think about how to see if our year 7s have familiarity/have internalised them, I guess ncetm checkpoints help with this #mathsconf38
