I am glad don't have to explain chronic illnesses like POTS and MCAS to my doctors anymore
But also I'm...concerned about the number of doctors who have picked up frankly incorrect info about POTS and MCAS
(Not even just the "it's over diagnosed" bias)

I recognize there are more MCAS patients than there are MCAS specialists, and he was probably trying to help
But immunology is complicated!
And I kinda feel like if you don't even know the name of a common antihistamine then maybe you should let my immunologist handle it

But then he was like, quizzing me on what meds I take?
He was trying to recommend cromolyn like I'd never heard of it, but did not recognize the name of my OTC antihistamine

Gibt es hier noch jemensch, der/die ebenfalls Eingliederungshilfe von der Stadt oder dem Landkreis bekommt und an ME/CFS (und/oder MCAS, PoTS, kPTBS) erkrankt ist? Ich habe heute einen kleinen Leitfaden im Umgang mit mir und den Erkrankungen geschrieben. Würde den teilen, wenn das interessant ist.

tangential but still v annoying version of this I’ve dealt w/ for 10+ yrs is drs WRONGLY assuming my EDS subtype BECAUSE i have POTS and MCAS
like no mf it’s cEDS, not hEDS, cEDS is not just “skin stretchy” “skin fragile” and conversely having POTS/MCAS/GP doesn’t mean u can ignore the fragility

I am also concerned that I'm seeing doctors fall into this confirmation bias thing of "you have EDS and POTS, so you probably have MCAS" or "you have POTS, so you must have EDS"
without having anywhere to refer patients for specialist care and further diagnostics
