Since I won’t annoy you by liking at agreeing with every post, let me just say this whole thread is the most concise and accurate look at the MCU. Whatever the extreme opposite of the Billy Madison Principle gif is you deserve it.

They got nervous and went back to the well. RDJ was/is the backbone of the MCU. re-casting him as the villain was a sign of desperation and they are trying to make it look like something else. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Rogue beat Carol to near death, absorbed her powers, and put her in a coma. What part of that ISN'T emblematic of a character that can be used to pander to the Brie Larson haters? I AM better than the incels. I have nothing against Inde Navarrette. I'm happy for her that she is joining the MCU...

My only headcanon is that all the things that blow about the MCU (FF are in a diff timeline? Danny Rand sucks balls? T’Challa dies before meeting the FF?) and make it dumb are the result of Rick Jones not existing in that universe.

I think there's a chance of a single token survivor to act 3; they've been... like a *weirdly* prominent part of the marketing campaign.

But Wolverine's by far the most likely and they just got a good post-sendoff welcome-to-the-MCU sendoff thing.

Post-Act 7 Homestuck is just the post-Endgame MCU of webcomics

The thing is, all the army stuff in Bay's "Transformers" is as close as Hollywood mostly got to making "9/11 catharsis" military action movies until "IRON MAN;" so in many ways they're probably the pure "zeitgeist movies" of the Bush Era the way MCU Phase 1-3 was for the Obama Years.

I cried during Tony's funeral as well, so it still hit the same. It kinda serves as a reminder of why I loved the MCU and superheroes to begin with.

But it also reminded me just how cynical corporations can be.

Avengers: Doomsday will be, without a doubt, the biggest event in Marvel movie history, not just Marvel Cinematic Universe history. The story of the Marvel Multiverse collapsing will bring the Avengers of the MCU into conflict with the X-Men of the Fox movie universe and maybe other famous Marvel characters we’ve seen onscreen before (looking at you, Spider-Man…). With so much still unknown about…

Yep.

Or… Hank Pym didn’t exist in the MCU when Age of Ultron was released.

I will confess that I'm curious but have also been basically entirely checked out of the MCU post Ant Man 3.

"Oh they hired a guy to keep track of the lore it's gotten so complicated"

Shush Thats a writer and don't act like the MCU doesn't have like 12 people with that same job
If someone can follow the MCU they can follow Kingdom Hearts

So in the MCU, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff or not the children of magneto… But what if they’re his grandchildren?

My pitch is to give a bunch of veteran action crews double their regular budget to pump out street-level heroes. The fact that someone like Scott Adkins has one MCU appearance as a no-name adept apprentice in Doctor Strange is a travesty.

That’s also a not-quite-X-Men, and a not-quite-a-film MCU film 😂

Triple meme score!!

I'm always confused by the statement that chimichangas are Tex-Mex because I'd never even heard of them before I lived, as an adult, in the midwest.

i'll be honest guys i really thought that once i started reading more comics i'd learn to hate the mcu to a reasonable extent but the longer i think about it the more i feel that getting mad at the mcu over anything to do with comic accuracy is just another version of losing at chess to a dog

The non-stop hateposts about this (which clearly meant darkest *Marvel* movie, not movie in general) are making me look forward to when Doomsday clears a billion easy and resets some people's ideas about the death of the MCU.

I feel you. Canon is wild for me though. I thought there was so much to the Marvel comics universe when I was reading it as a teen, and that was in the ‘80s with 20 years of canon. There’s now 60 years of comic book history to contend with, plus 18 years of the MCU. It’s too much!
October 3, 2026 at 2:44 AM
Which makes the MCU the truest adaptation of Big Two comics to film! 😄
October 3, 2026 at 2:28 AM
Yeah I'm not saying this to mock 'em, MCU guys get enough of that. I mean I would be genuinely curious to see how they'd react
October 3, 2026 at 2:21 AM
It’s absolutely just politics. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was Marvel, but the TV division was outside of Feige’s authority and didn’t match his vision for the MCU.
It’s like the old Movies>Novels>Comics & Games canon system at Lucasfilm. Lucas cared about the movies and ignored or contradicted the rest.

I only have one problem with Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova in the MCU, and it's a pretty big one (not really):

We don't get to see enough of her pet Guinea Pig - we *need* more pet Guinea Pig!

Maybe she named them "Yvgeny" and feeds 'em tiny potatoes (she keeps the big ones for herself)...

😆
