If you've spent time in white evangelical churches you've probably heard some lay churchwoman's meditations on opening herself up to Jesus. It's striking how erotic some of them are.
Now imagine if she conceived of her Jesus as black.

To be fair, this particular focus gained a lot of emphasis with the denomination as an alternative to more progressive approaches to faith focused on social justice in the wake of the Civil Rights Movement, so their vision of an anti-Christ figure almost always looked a lot more like Obama.
