Also, don’t fall into the trap of thinking Medical Payments coverage is the same as UM/UIM. Medpay covers medical bills.
UM/UIM covers all damages the insured is legally entitled to recover for bodily injury arising out of the use of a motor vehicle caused by an uninsured or underinsured driver.

Also, don’t fall into the trap of thinking Medical Payments coverage is the same as UM/UIM. Medpay covers medical bills.

Add "medpay" to your auto insurance. It is cheap and covers all medical needs due to an accident. My husband and I have coverage up to $500,000 combined. We have never had to use it, but it is well worth it.

Just now: disabled Tesla with manufacturer plates on Barton Springs Drive in South Austin, apparently hit from behind. Another Tesla on manufacturer plates is on the scene with responding officers. No idea what happened, was literally just walking by.

If you can afford it, get a good ebike policy. Yes, you will have a deductible in the event of theft. But theft is not the only thing it covers! Especially if you can't drive or don't drive, and ebike is transportation for you, it might be the only way to get uninsured motorist coverage and medpay.

#AAA medpay adjusters are spectacularly unhelpful. One just left a 3 minute long tirade on my voicemail, b/c I’ve had to ask the same hyper-simple question repeatedly, b/c she’s avoided, side-stepped & gaslit me without ever answering. A voicemail haranguing me & STILL w/out answering the question.
