a couple years back, a marlin was in the shallows at a local beach near Melaque. Every comment was "it's a shark, look at the fin", and I'm like... it's a Marlin..look at the dorsal fin, the sickle tail and oh.. the. half meter spike on it's nose...

Cathryn and I left Melaque, Jalisco, Mexico last year in search of a new winter home where it's sunny and warm every day. We have lots of good memories from the Costalegre but it was time to move on. Our journey took us up the Pacific coast through Puerto Vallarta to Mazatlan. From there we drove another four hours north and took a ferry across to La Paz, on the Baja peninsula.

Well back in Miami for 12 hours, we flew on to Mexico City this morning and now waiting for second flight to Manzanillo, Mexico, then taxi to Melaque a wonderful small beach town.
