#micro-mobility
Antonio Reynoso with extremely important testimony on today's micro mobility City Council hearing. I am waiting for a hearing the danger on what is actually killing New Yorkers (cars and trucks).
Thank you to @bkbpreynoso.bsky.social for testifying at today's City Council hearing on "e-bike" safety.

When did we start calling bikes “micro-mobility”? Like the implication that mobility starts with cars and everything else is less than?

This is a somewhat hot take but I agree with this article overall. We need to be having a more serious conversation about what micro mobility offers and how to build that up than just slamming it all as a menace or looking to restrict and ban it.

@paulbarter.bsky.social has noted that as countries develop, cities shift from being oriented around motorcycles to transit. Unfortunately NYC is backsliding: people are shifting to e-micro-mobility because transit options are poor, and with that sometimes comes death www.nytimes.com/2026/09/30/n...

Something that always irks me about the dockless micro-mobility operators (speaking as an alumnus from one of them): they make little-to-no effort to build racks or subsidize their placement.

I've been incensed when racks that typically are there for public use are swamped by Lime, Veo, Spin, etc.
A story as old as modern times...

The frustrating part of this is amid all complaints about micro mobility options like e-scooters and bikes, UPC Ontario is ripping out the infrastructure that makes it safe and accessible for everyone.
"What is certain, however, is that a vast sum of our money will be wasted, countless Torontonians will find themselves profoundly inconvenienced for extended periods, and, eventually, a cyclist will get struck by a car. But at least the congestion will be worse."
EXCLUSIVE: Inside the contract to rip out Toronto’s bike lanes

Spacing has obtained the RFP for the Ford government's bike lane removal, and it looks even worse than thought.

Push care Neck Brace: What Buyers Can Verify Before Ordering
Push care Neck Brace Neck braces sit between clinical intent and daily wear, so fit and documentation matter as much as material. The Push care Neck Brace is a semi-rigid foam collar from PUSH's Care line. The brace supports the vertebral column through an anatomical shape and semi-rigid foam, holding the neck and head between the jaw and collarbone. The stated aim is functional support without restricting mobility. Comfort features listed include rounded edges, a soft lining, and Sympress microfibre material intended to keep skin dry. The brace is described as easy to apply and washable.

It ignores where fuel is burned most: commercial freight and micro-mobility. In India, 3-wheelers are over 50% electric, and 2-wheelers are booming. In China, battery-swap heavy trucks are killing diesel. None of this massive demand loss appears on a passenger car graph .

Me: I think micro mobility is the future of cities, allowing more minimal roadways to better serve transit, emergency services, and those who genuinely require single occupancy vehicles.

Also me: Monster trucks? You have my attention…

I genuinely think it’s the physics nerd itch being scratched 🤔
