this recent preprint on PEM was fascinating. in the study, exercise (appeared to) make large microclots break into many small microclots… like frag grenades of inflammation

Cardiologists require COVID diagnostic training.
What tests should I run?
What signs/symptoms must be followed up?
Preventative diagnostics MUST become more commonplace, due to hidden COVID microclotting.

They conclude that presence of microclotting, together with relatively high levels of six biomarkers known to be key drivers of endothelial and clotting pathology, points to thrombotic endothelialitis as a key pathological process in #LongCOVID.

We’re five years into the pandemic, and the science is telling a very different story than “just a cold.” COVID affects blood vessels, organs, metabolism, and cognition — and the impacts compound with each infection.

Microclot testing:

Only a small number of patients showed signs of abnormal microclotting.

On average, clotting measures were similar to control groups.

Due to the microclotting with COVID, the rate of heart attacks and strokes is also increased for at least 2 years following infection.

The microclots thing is a fun one. I asked my Hematologist about tests to find if I had microclotting and she said they wouldn't show up on what she can order done.

I really wish I could get my VQ scan read by someone considering microclotting.

ISTR a lot of talk about microclotting being the really tough/dangerous part of it in the early days. Sure sounds like that would have vascular effects to me.

Derby researchers studied 46 people with Long COVID and found that even mild exercise breaks large microclots into smaller ones, triggering inflammation and possibly worsening symptoms.

Exercise may harm more than help without careful oversight.

"This study provides the first evidence of a biological basis that might explain exercise-induced symptom exacerbation in people with #LongCOVID through microclot fragmentation, which may contribute to systemic inflammation":

Long COVID refers to any of over fifty complications resulting from COVID-19 (SARS-COV-2), some complications include:

• POTS
• Brain Damage
• Increased risk of Cancer and Diabetes
• Chronic Fatigue
• Microclotting
• Loss of Smell and/or Taste
• Seizures
• Infertility and Erectile Dysfunction

1/ Fantastic new preprint from
@resiapretorius.bsky.social @CallumThomas96 @DrMark_Faghy and co. This new study suggests that even light exercise may worsen #LongCOVID. by breaking up #microclots and triggering inflammation.

5) 6,000 FU 2x/day nattokinase + 120,000  SPU serrapeptase/day, together, help a lot of people with microclotting so more oxygen gets into cells. Get the ones with enteric coating.

6) Find community. There's /r/cfs, Phoenix Rising, and more. People swap tips and meds they've tried.
