#micromollusc
Do we have any #micromollusc experts around? Found this yesterday doesn’t at 21m on a wreck in the UAE, was 3mm in length - but super cool #invertebrates #marinelife #gastropods #mollusc

Many native & introduced snails grace Rota's forests. Some are easy to identify; others I'm still working on

1️⃣ cinnamon bun snail (Satsuma succincta), introduced
2️⃣ Cuban slug (Veronicella cubensis), invasive
3️⃣ unidentified euconulid
4️⃣ unidentified micromollusc

Micromollusc is not a well-defined category. Maybe 5 mm is the upper limit for adult shells, but it’s quite arbitrary. Sometimes it’s pushed a few millimetres more. So, yanno, whatevs.

Only a few families are composed entirely of very small snails – Rissoidae and Skeneidae for example. (3/8)

I worried that I was cheating in #AtoZ. Then I recalled this was my thread so I set the rules. We’re not looking at an M genus. Instead, M is for micromollusc. Let me show you some images of tiny, tiny snails.

Bait and switch? Oh yeah. But a cheap one? HOW DARE
