TIL something new on the SEM kind of by accident. And it's something that isn't supposed to work.
But it works.

Using ETD in Optiplan mode = no charging but there's still good SE imaging. The SNR is much worse than in Standard mode but still good enough to get excellent images.

release, and simpler administration. Previous research focused mostly on microspheres and solid implants, which had limits like low drug loading, inconsistent dispersion, and the need for removal. In-situ systems avoid many of these problems and provide a cleaner, more user-friendly solution.

compliance and reduce side effects. In-situ forming implants offer unique benefits compared to other systems like solid implants or microspheres. Unlike solid implants, which may need surgery to insert or remove, in-situ implants are injected as a liquid that solidifies inside the body. This method

So they filmed them in something called "microspheres," much smaller grains, with the desired visual effect. But these were so small they posed a health risk to the crew, even with PPE, as it could get through the material. (It's now banned in filming)

Here's an SEM micrograph of what 'Scratch and Sniff' stickers looks like at the microscopic scale.

The rough spots are the exposed microcapsules of volatile oils while the smooth bumps are unruptured, sealed "bottles" of scent.

How do they form?

This is a double whammy because all evidence I can find is that the AI is basically right and the local orchard website is wrong. Also, type in something else, and you'll get a totally different answer from the AI. So fun times we're living in.
