I've read some as-yet-unpublished research on it recently. I think my own take is they're all chasing the high of the very first few microtargeting successes. In the kingdom of grit and heart and plus-minus, the candidate with raw Corsi data is king. For one season that everyone will overindex on.

We're a decade past Cambridge Analytica ad targeting scandals and even Facebook still doesn't expose the native FB likes/interests being used to target ads. Microtargeting is largely invisible. We've got the same problems with open web programmatic advertising - but there are standards to help!🧵
