i think i want to color rheinef (mihri's zephyr bird) to make her blue facepaint rather than green since she doesn't have just one distinctive green shade that represents her and the facepaint is always a part of her design... so shadow blue maybe, or woad or ink blue, i'll have to see

i think even though mihri is a visibly masculine lesbian* woman frequently clocked in eorzea, she would be a very different character in a setting with modern concepts of lesbian identity and butch and femme and more modern manifestations of misogyny

honestly accounting for wolships when actually playing the game text got a lot easier when i considered that 1) there's no mass media so most people know nothing about mihri's private life and 2) she has no reason to out herself as a lesbian to most people and a lot of reason not to

you might think mihri's animal motif is a cat of some kind but honestly in many ways it's actually a deer. not from cowardice, or flightiness, or aught like that. for mihri, the whole world is of one part. she is no more separate from the world than the tree is from the water within its roots.

i haven't made a pride post for mihri yet because i'm still trying to figure out how to frame her internal concept of her own sexuality as someone from an entirely different cultural context vs me in the modern world saying "she's a butch lesbian." she does not have our modern language for that

You carried my heart in the night

Agnes Obel, speaking to each track:
‘Aventine’ was a song that I wrote on piano first and then I worked with some viola samples. It was very joyful and playful but it had an edge
